Mission
To improve home-grown food and lifestyles for a sustainable and healthy future.

The Problem
Processing plants modify food to behave like plastic. They sacrifice health and taste just to make food look good on a shelf. Preservatives are injected to make food last for travel and storage. Some consumers get sick from these preservatives. Trucks burn fuel to drive food from distribution centers to super markets. Airplanes burn fuel to fly food from country to country. Farmers saturate fields with poison to kill weeds and pest. It’s hard to tell what’s good to eat. On top of it all, children forget food comes from the dirt and they are separated from the outdoors.

The Solution
Businesses do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer. If the customer stops consuming poisoned food, the producer will stop producing poisoned food. Individuals can grow food at home. Doing so reduces fuel emissions and ensures healthy food. Home grown food just tastes better. Earth Scaffold is here to support home grown food and outdoor living in a modern way. Technology allows home owners to farm indoors and create lush gardens without sacrificing health or taste. Anyone can do it. You don’t have to be an expert. Earth Scaffold provides the supplies and resources. It’s up to you to get started whether it’s a little home innovation or a search for a new lifestyle.

From the Founder
Hi, I’m Julian Erickson. I grow up in Warren, IN and moved to Fort Wayne, IN later in my life. I got the inspiration to learn more about food when I began attending the University of Evansville. One course drew my attention to how bad the food system is and how disconnected society is from nature. As I dug deeper into the problem, I realized individuals must solve it together by making better choices. That’s when I got the idea to start Earth Scaffold. I’m now dedicated to do two things:
-
Increase awareness of disconnect between people, food, and nature.
-
Providing a service to help people reconnect in their own way.
Here is a little philosophy from me:
Technology is a beautiful part of nature. It should be carefully considered and used in harmony with life. Those who know it well may prosper. Those who don’t may damage themselves and the life around them.
